About

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that I wanted to devote my life to helping others in some capacity.   I have always been intrigued by the human experience in general, and after my first introduction to the human sciences, I was hooked and wanted to dive deeper and went on to earn a B.S. in Psychology.  After finishing my undergraduate degree, I wanted to pursue higher education, but I struggled to find my niche as I was frustrated by a system that seemed to address only one aspect of a person at a time and that was often over prescribing medications and resorting to surgeries as the first course of action instead of finding and treating the root cause of the problem.

I firmly believe that in order to reach and maintain optimal health, you must take into consideration all aspects of the mind-body complex and to achieve lasting results you must first find the root of the problem and then work from the source.  I have been experimenting with different types of bodywork and alternative therapies for over 30 years and after experiencing Amma myself, I finally found an avenue that supported my belief in treating the person as a whole.

My training as an Amma Therapist included Eastern and Western Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology, Asian Bodywork techniques, complementary techniques (cupping, Moxibustion, Gua Sha), Swedish massage, movement arts (T'ai Chi and Qigong), Chinese and Western herbs and supplements, TCM food energetics and Holistic Nutrition.

I am a certified Amma Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), and I recently completed an immersive breathwork facilitator training in Sedona.  In combining all of these wonderful tools and therapies, I am able to combine my love of helping people with my life experience and educational background to help bring the client into a state of physical, mental, and emotional balance supporting the body's amazing capacity to heal itself.

I have an integrative approach and incorporate both Eastern and Western concepts and philosophies into my sessions. Since completing my training, I have worked at several wellness centers practicing integrative health and collaborating with other practitioners to enhance patient care outcomes on routine, pre and post-op care, and rehabilitation. I also have prior experience as a C.A. (Chiropractic Assistant).

As a therapist, I listen to my clients and then work together with them to create a custom treatment plan to help them reach their health goals.  I believe that the client not only needs to be heard, but that they also need to be an active participant in their journey and overall health plan.  I love working with clients to help them reach their potential and I am honored to be a part of their journey!
